A MAJOR motorway has been closed as cops respond to a crash on the road.

Drivers have been warned of the road closure and severe delays as a result of the incident on the M4.

The motorway in has been closed eastbound between junctions 30 and 32.

Motorists have been warned the disruption could continue for some time, with travellers urged to find alternative routes.

Th AA suggested there were delays of 37 minutes, which looked to be increasing between the Coryton Interchange and Cardiff Gate.

It estimated the average speed on the affected side of the road to be around five miles per hour.

South Wales said: β€œWe’re at the scene of a collision on the M4, Cardiff.

β€œThe road is currently closed Eastbound from Junction 32 to 30.

β€œIt is expected to remain closed for some time; please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.

β€œWe’re grateful for your patience.”
