A MAJOR motorway is closed, with traffic delays expected to last two hours.

National Highways reports a “severe” police incident has seen the M3 between Junctions 3 and 4 eastbound in Surrey shut.

The Junction 4 entry slip road is also closed.

The incident – which has not been specified – is due to be cleared by 9.45am.

Motorway cameras show the long tailbacks.

Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service are on the scene.

National Highways said: “The M3 in Surrey is closed eastbound between J4 (near Farnborough) and J3 (near Bracknell) due to a Police Led Incident.

“Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service are in attendance.

“National Highways Traffic Officers are on scene to assist with traffic management.

“Due to the nature of the incident, the road is expected to remain closed throughout the morning.”
