A MAJOR UK motorway has been forced to close in both directions after a lorry caught fire – sparking travel chaos.
Plumes of smoke could be seen rising over the M25 near Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, following the blaze this afternoon.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the HGV – which was stranded between Junctions 25, for Waltham Cross, and 24, for Potters Bar.
Pictures show multiple fire fighters and engines on the scene as they battle to put out the blaze.
National Highways said: “The M25 in Hertfordshire is closed in both directions between J25 and J24 due to a lorry fire.
“Emergency Services including Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue are in attendance.
“National Highways Traffic Officers are assisting with traffic management.”
