Woodhouse, 37, was racing towards victory and preparing to step up to the oche when he was stopped in his tracks.
He was needing another 260 on Gilding’s throw and only chasing one more leg to seal the win.
But Woodhouse was visibly bemused when an alarm went off and a message was read out over the PA system.
After some confusion, the Bewdley thrower and Gilding were then led off the stage while fans were wreaking havoc.
The clash restarted soon after the chaos, with Woodhouse wrapping up a 6-3 win.
