Luke Littler Opens Up About World Darts Venue Move Following His Final Victory at Ally Pally

LUKE LITTLER has addressed the relocation of the World Darts Championship.

This is the last time the Warrington ace claimed his second title.

Littler, 18, triumphed in a commanding final where he won seven consecutive frames to defeat the Dutchman.

In doing so, the teenager became just the third player to win in consecutive years.

Only legends Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, and Gary Anderson had accomplished this feat before him.

Littler has lost only once at the renowned oche, having reached the final in all three tournaments he has entered.

However, Saturday night marks the last time he will compete from there, as the venue will transition to Ally Pally’s Great Hall.

This decision was made due to the heightened demand for tickets following a recent surge in interest in the sport.

The Great Hall can accommodate 5,000 more spectators than the 3,300-capacity West Hall.

Littler has expressed his enthusiasm for the change, stating that it is necessary to accommodate the growing focus on the sport.

He will take to the new oche on opening night in December as he embarks on his quest for a three-peat.

He remarked: “Yeah, it’s going to be massive. It’ll be the first time this year.

“I’ll be on in the opening night again in December, which is about 11-12 months away.

“That’s how significant it’s growing.

“The prize money has increased, and now the capacity is rising.

“So, who knows where we will be in the next ten years.”

There was speculation about the World Darts Championship potentially moving away from its current location.

It has been confirmed that the move will occur within Ally Pally, starting from the 2026-27 event onwards.

This change will allow approximately 180,000 more people to attend throughout the tournament, which is an increase of 70,000 compared to the recent World Championships.

The last final at the previous stage saw Littler dominate Van Veen in a one-sided match.

At one point, Littler was mid-throw when he was compelled to swipe it away.

He also received an award for hitting the most 180s (73) of any player in the tournament.

Despite what could have been an overwhelming moment, he remained composed.
