WITH iconic crash-outs, a love of eBay’s designer handbags and one very obvious make-up mishap, Ellie Chadwick had already booked her place in the Love Island hall of fame.
But when she tonight quit to follow her bad boy Finley Maddock out the villa, that spot was set in stone. Now the Scottish real estate manager has broken her silence on her six weeks in Mallorca and exactly why she walked.

when I heard from my spies on the dating show about the results of the favourite boy and favourite girl vote.
She by the other Islanders.
Ellie said: “There are so many emotions going through me.I came for one thing, I wanted to find someone and I found it.
“There was no point in me staying until the end just to be a placeholder, It didn’t sit right with me.

“Nothing in my gut told me I needed to stay. I knew full well in my gut, my heart and my head that leaving was the only and the best option for me, so that’s what I did.”
Her choice will have fans up in arms as recent episodes have shown Finley testing a connection with another girl – bombshell Elicia Bailey.
Ellie and Fin had seemed rock solid and even made it through Casa Amor, but he then
After realising where his heart lay, he had only just won Ellie back over.
Then he was picked to leave the villa by the rest of the cast after ranking low in a viewer vote.
Ellie said: “Obviously, seeing Finley up there was hard because it was a recent event and he hadn’t been in the bottom before.
“Then, when we got told about the second dumping and that we had to choose, I already kind of knew in my gut that it wasn’t going to go the way I was hoping, which was for me and Finley to stay there and continue to grow.
“There were no ifs, buts or maybes, or what ifs, or how could this play out.”
Fin now bears the guilt of having ended Ellie’s journey as well as his own.
He said: “It’s obviously bittersweet because I’ve ended Ellie’s journey early because of my actions.
“I expected to be in the bottom three with the public. I would have been more baffled if I wasn’t after my actions over the past couple of days.
“The Islanders said in their explanation that it was I kind of knew.

“When Maya asked if any of us wanted to defend ourselves and give reasons why we wanted to stay, I wasn’t going to stand there and defend myself. I’d put myself in that situation. I’m a big man, I can take it.
“But I was standing there looking at Ellie and, in the back of my mind, I knew there was going to be some sort of decision she would have to make.
“Obviously, she ended up leaving with me, which was a very bittersweet moment. I was so happy she was leaving, but I felt like s**t about the fact I had ended her journey.
“Even though she made the decision, she was probably there because of me.”
Fans loved Ellie’s passionate put-downs and fiery nature and that was no different when she was calling Fin to task over how he played with her heart.
During the time he juggled the two women, and played truth or dare, plus snogged her on a date – all while assuring Ellie she was his priority.

It meant Elicia felt sure enough to steal him from Ellie in a recoupling.
Ellie said: “When Elicia chose Fin at the recoupling, all hell broke loose. I was angry. As all the girls were saying, I just lost my cool.
“There had already been a little bit of back and forth.
“I more or less knew what was coming, but it had been back and forth and I just lost it.
“I had too much emotion in me to let out. I’d laid my cards out. I couldn’t do any more.
“I was just hurt. It wasn’t like she had done anything wrong.
“She had a job to do, she was a Bombshell. I was just feeling a type of way about it, and that was okay.
“Everyone in that situation was feeling a type of way, mine just came out in a louder way than everyone else’s.”

Ellie tried to be understanding but maintains Finley handled the situation poorly.
She added: “Finley knows fine well that the communication was poor. A lot of the things that happened were not relayed to me in a proper way, which I would have appreciated.
“I’m big enough to take the truth on the chest.
“I’m a very direct, upfront person. I just think the communication was poor and the way he handled it wasn’t great.
“I understand he was confused. I was understanding the whole time, but there was only so much understanding I could do.”
The builder now knows where he went wrong.
He said: “It’s such a unique experience and I’m not going to say I have any regrets.
“I wish I’d handled it a lot better in terms of communication. I’ve learned a lot from it.

“Nobody’s perfect and I’ve learned something from being on the show. It’s bad that I hurt people, but I’m thinking about where we are now.
“We’re in a good place. Definitely no regrets. I just could have handled it a lot better than I did. As long as we learn from our mistakes, eh?
“I kept being told that I was doing things for other people and not doing what I wanted to do, that I was too polite and that people could see things.
“I was laughing everything off because I couldn’t be arsed to get into it. I’d had so many serious chats. I was ‘serious-chatted’ out.”
Now Ellie and Fin are outside the villa she’s keen to test their connection in the real world.
She added: “It doesn’t mean the grafting boots are off because we’re out now, those boots are still on. I believed in the connection we had so much.
“I just knew in my heart that it was going to work, regardless of what was going on.
“It’s surreal and bittersweet to be leaving.
“I’ve loved every minute of it. The highs, the lows, the ebbs and flows, everything about it, I’ve absolutely loved.
“I’ve just been myself, shown my true colours and absolutely had a ball. I’ve been through some hard bits, but listen, that’s what makes it. That’s life. I’m a real human and that’s what makes the experience.

“My journey has been up and down, left and right, I’ve been pulled from pillar to post but I wouldn’t change it.
“The true experience is that you don’t just find out about connections and relationships, you find out a lot about yourself.
“Even if you don’t find anyone from it, which I hope everyone does, you find out a lot about yourself and that’s beautiful in itself.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Casa Amor boy Jordon Wilson and controversial bombshell Elicia were dumped by viewers.
The Islanders then selected Finley and Casa Amor girl Martha Rothwell to join them in leaving.
Love Island airs daily on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm.
