JACK FINCHAM only ever started boxing because he was so bad at football – before finding fame on the telly.
Fincham boxed for Eltham & District

He shot to recognition in 2019 after winning Love Island with ex-Dani Dyer – forging a reality TV career afterwards.
But Fincham – – insisted he is no celebrity fighter.
He said on talkSPORT : “With Misfits and these sort of influencer fights, everyone sort of puts me in that category but I can’t really go in that category.
“I’ve had two pro fights, obviously both out in Dubai. I turned over originally signed with Ben Shalom with 2020, I didn’t end up having my pro debut until 2022.
“That was with the Dubai Boxing Council. I had 30 fights for Eltham Boxing Club so I was a fighter long before I went on TV.”
Fincham says he is now long in the boxing tooth – but only because he was such a poor footballer.
He added: “It’s going to be a hard thing because people know you from the telly but I’ve been fighting competitively coming up 20 years now.
“It’s not even something I’ve done for a couple of years.
“And I’ll tell you the reason I actually started boxing was me and my little brother was so useless at football, we were losing 20-0 every week!
“My mum said, ‘I can’t watch this anymore. I’ve got to take you up the boxing gym!'”
Chalmers, 38, made his name in MTV’s Geordie Shore house – winning five of his seven bouts.
He then moved into boxing and had five bouts in the pro and crossover scene –
But Fincham, 34, said: “I’ve trained with Ben Davison, I’ve got a top quality coach now, we’ve got people fighting British titles, WBO Intercontinental Champions in the gym.
“I’ve been sparring in the little gloves people that fight in the One Championship at a seriously high level.
“He’s got a strong MMA background, a good few years, but he went pro late.
“You can always tell when someone started later on yeah you can always tell. But I just feel that basic boxing will win this it’s just basic boxing.
I actually started boxing was me and my little brother was so useless at football, we were losing 20-0 every week! My mum said, ‘I can’t watch this anymore. I’ve got to take you up the boxing gym!’

“You want to walk them onto something, you need to use your feet and you need to know little tiny things.
“You’re always learning on the job in boxing anyway. But I think keeping this simple, I mean, not being funny, with just your hands, a jab’s going to open your face up regardless.
“But we work for a whole game plan. And when I literally say, for this camp, I’ve put blood, sweat and tears into it. Like I really, really have.”
The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship event – promoted by – is topped by ex-boxing champ
And Fincham believes the stage is set for a breakout performance.
He said: “As I said, I’ve been fighting competitively for 20 years and I’ve boxed professionally twice anyway.
“Three times actually, one of them was obviously a pro bare-knuckle.
“And again, you still can’t shake it, but because BKFC is so big and you’ve got the names of like James DeGale on it, you’ve Kell Brook been said to be signing over to it.
“It’s a huge, huge platform live on DAZN, I think once I go and get this win it firmly cements me like, ‘Oh, actually this guy is the real deal.'”
