Sometimes they don’t end up finding love and actually leave with new best pals – but these friendships can often turn sour as times goes on.

Over the years, there have been some pretty iconic friendships and bromances come from the show, including and , and , and and .

If you cast your mind back to the seventh series of the programme, which aired in 2021, it saw and win over the of the nation.

And although their co-stars , , Abigail Rawlings, and didn’t find love in the villa, they found each other and formed a pretty solid group from the show.

But many have noticed that the ‘fab five’ don’t hang out with each other any more.

Now The Sun can exclusively reveal what’s really going on between the reality stars after none of the girls went to Sharon’s recent baby shower.

Sharon announced the birth of her son on Friday (17 July 2026), writing on Instagram: “Football might not have come home, but someone else did.”

A source told The Sun: “It’s really sad because these girls were so inseparable after they left the villa.

“Everyone thought they’d be one of those Love Island friendships that would last forever as they’d really bonded and seemed to be so close, but somewhere along the way it all fizzled out.

“They’re all living completely different lives now and they’re not the close-knit group they once were.”

Sharon – who coupled up with the likes of and on the show – revealed that she was just three months after getting engaged to her boyfriend Matthew Torbitt.

The star, who now works as a VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) activist, revealed she was in a relationship with Matthew in March 2025.

The couple threw an adorable baby shower with loved ones back in June, just weeks ahead of their exciting arrival.

But her Love Island pals didn’t appear in any of the pictures from her party which was held at DiSH FOOD Court in .

The source continued: “Sharon’s baby shower was a real eye-opener.

“A few years ago, you’d have expected all the girls to be front and centre celebrating such a huge milestone with her.

“The fact none of them were there really says everything about where the friendships are now.”

After their stint in the villa, the girls enjoyed nights out and even went on holiday together, but now it is clear that they are all in different chapters of their lives.

Tattoo artist Abi, who left the villa with Dale Mehmet, moved to in July last year, which means that the distance definitely makes it harder to see them all.

However she still shares the love with them on now and again.

“Abi moving to LA definitely changed things. When someone is living thousands of miles away, it’s only natural that they become less involved with the group,” the source continued.

“There’s no bad blood there – life has simply taken her in a different direction.

“She’ll still occasionally comment on Sharon or one of the other girls’ posts, but they aren’t as tight as they used to be.”

And one friendship that was pretty solid within the group was Kaz and Liberty.

The pair became known for their iconic friendship and landed various jobs together after the villa, and even started up their own podcast.

But things went down hill after the girls appeared on Love Island: All Stars in 2024.

Fans started to speculate what had gone on between the pair and then last month.

Our source said: “Kaz and Liberty’s friendship had been on the rocks for a long time before people realised.

“There was always speculation that something happened behind the scenes and people around them have had their own theories – mostly about how they were jealous of each other, or not liking each other’s boyfriends – but neither of them has ever publicly revealed the full details what caused the split.

Kaz, rather cryptically, that she felt the friendship was “a bit one-sided”, and that she was “pouring a lot more in than I was getting back as a friend.”

“It’s one of those friendships that quietly came to an end but everyone gossips about. It’s very sad.

“It was heartbreaking for fans because Kaz and Liberty were seen as friendship goals.

“Then all of a sudden they just weren’t together anymore.

“There have been plenty of rumours about what caused the rift, but only they really know the full story.”

Meanwhile, Faye has been busy making content on Instagram about living in the countryside with her animals.

She placed third on the show alongside her ex Teddy Soares, but they split 18 months after dating.

The star spends her time working as a Guide Dogs ambassador and regularly campaigns about animal rights.

“Faye has almost shut the door on that chapter of her life,” the source continued.

“She’s built a completely different lifestyle away from the Love Island bubble and has been very honest about how much the experience affected her mentally.

“She’s happier keeping to herself than chasing the influencer scene with the girls – it’s just not for her and she’s realised she’s happier away from it all.”

With the girls based up and down the UK, and Abi over in America, it’s certainly been hard for them all to keep their friendship alive.

A source ended with: “People grow up, priorities change and life moves on, but it’s still a shame.

“The ‘fab five’ looked unbreakable at one point, yet now they’re all on completely separate paths.

“Sharon’s baby shower really brought home just how much has changed.

“It’s a shame that Sharon didn’t ask them all as it could have helped bring them all back together but them not being there really just cements how the friendship group is done and dusted for good.”

The Sun contacted Sharon, Abi, Liberty, Kaz and Faye’s reps for comment.
