Liverpool mounrs ex-player, Joey Jones

Liverpool have reacted to the death of their former player, Joey Jones.

In a statement via their website onTuesday, Liverpool expressed sadness over the passing of Jones.

Jones, a former Liverpool left-back, has earlier died at the aged 70.

“The thoughts of everyone at LFC are with Joey’s family and friends at this sad time,” Liverpool’s statement partly read.

DAILY POST reports that Jones won the domestic league, European Cup and UEFA Cup during his time at Liverpool.

The Welshman also made 100 appearances for the Reds during the second half of the 1970s.

He also represented Wales at senior international level more than 70 times.

His death is coming less than a few weeks after another Liverpool player, Diogo Jota passed away as a result of a car accident in Spain.
