A MAN has been charged with murder following the discovery of a body in Ipswich earlier this week.

Police received a call at approximately 11:35 AM on Tuesday, December 23, regarding reports of a man found deceased inside a residence.

The deceased, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

A 38-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for interrogation.

Arvydas Maliusis, a 38-year-old Lithuanian national, has now been charged with murder.

The woman has been released on conditional bail.

A post-mortem examination conducted on Wednesday, December 24, revealed that the victim died from injuries to the neck, face, and head.

However, the official cause of death has yet to be determined.

It is believed that the two individuals arrested were acquainted with the deceased.

A police cordon remains in place at the property on College Street as investigations continue.
