LIONEL MESSI’s farewell Argentina match will be missing two stars after they were refused permission to travel.
The will play against Benin at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires, in what will be his final on the international stage.
Messi, 39, is widely considered a national hero on the pitch but and will not be involved.
Italian club AS Roma has blocked the pair from travelling for the match.
The decision was made due to “sporting and logistical reasons” despite the two stars being a part of ‘s 2022 World Cup-winning squad.
A statement said: “AS Roma announces that Paulo Dybala and Nahuel Molina will not participate in the event organised in Argentina for the match between Argentina and Benin on October 6.
“The club recognises the importance of this appointment for the two players, who are linked to Lionel Messi and played a key role in his victory at the 2022 World Cup.
“The club’s choice was based on sporting and logistical reasons, linked to the length of the intercontinental trip and the proximity of official commitments.
“AS Roma expresses its utmost respect for Lionel Messi and his extraordinary career, wishing him and the Argentine Federation a special evening.”
Messi announced that he would be retiring from international following the defeat in the summer‘s World Cup final to .

Before his farewell game on October 6, Argentina have fixtures against and Burkina Faso.
The nine-time winner made his debut on the international stage when he was 18 in 2005.
He has since scored 125 goals in 207 caps.
