MBC’s upcoming drama “Mary Kills People”; has shared a new poster!
“Mary Kills People”; follows the story of Woo So Jung (Lee Bo Young), a doctor who illegally assists terminally ill patients with euthanasia, and a detective who tracks her down.
Lee Bo Young plays Woo So Jung, a doctor who saves lives by day and secretly provides euthanasia to patients with incurable illnesses by night.
Lee Min Ki stars as Jo Hyun Woo, a terminal cancer patient with no chance of recovery. Orphaned and alone, he makes a living as a delivery rider. As he approaches the end of his life, he turns to Woo So Jung, an emergency room doctor who offers physician-assisted death, seeking her help.
Kang Ki Young plays Choi Dae Hyun, a former plastic surgeon whose medical license has been revoked. A longtime friend of Woo So Jung, he now helps her assist terminally ill patients in ending their lives through euthanasia.
The newly released poster highlights the fateful relationship between Woo So Jung, Jo Hyun Woo, and Choi Dae Hyun. In the poster, they are shown in intense close-up shots positioned on the left, right, and top of the image. On the left, Woo So Jung radiates a unique aura as she gazes downward with a troubled expression. On the right, Jo Hyun Woo stares directly at her with a piercing gaze. From above, Choi Dae Hyun looks down, his eyes also fixed on Woo So Jung.
The words, “Euthanasia. Is it the best choice?”; placed between Woo So Jung, Jo Hyun Woo, and Choi Dae Hyun hint at a tense conflict of beliefs and emotions between them as they face difficult decisions at the boundary between life and death.
The production team stated, “Through the main poster, we aimed to capture the complex relationships and hidden truths between the three main characters,”; adding, “Please look forward to ‘Mary Kills People,’ which will deeply resonate with viewers and pose meaningful questions about life, death, and the choices that surround death.”;
“Mary Kills People”; is set to premiere on August 1 at 10 p.m. KST.
