Lee Jae In has shared more insights on her first-ever action role in the upcoming film “Hi-5”;!
“Hi-5”; is a comic action adventure that tells the story of five individuals who unexpectedly gain different superpowers through organ transplants and get entangled in events involving those who seek to exploit their abilities.
Lee Jae In plays Wan Seo, a pure-hearted and spirited girl who loves taekwondo. After miraculously receiving a heart transplant following a long illness, she discovers that she now possesses explosive strength and lightning-fast speed. Having spent her school years alone and without friends, she meets others who also gained superpowers from organs donated by the same donor: Ji Seong (Ahn Jae Hong), Seon Nyeo (Ra Mi Ran), Yak Seon (Kim Hee Won), and Gi Dong (Yoo Ah In). Together, they form the team “Hi-5”; and take part in exhilarating team missions.
Lee Jae In shared, “Out of all the characters I’ve portrayed so far, I feel the most similar to Wan Seo.”; To bring the film’s central action figure to life, she underwent a rigorous 10-month action training program from pre-production through filming, mastering difficult wire stunts and taekwondo choreography to deliver a truly dynamic performance.
Director Kang Hyeong Cheol praised her highly, saying, “There’s a reason she’s called a genius actor. Her execution of the action scenes was outstanding and she earned frequent applause on set. Audiences will see a whole new side of Lee Jae In.”; Stunt director Lee Geon Moon added, “Even in physically demanding wire action scenes, she never once complained of pain or exhaustion. She repeated takes tirelessly until she was completely satisfied,”; applauding her unwavering commitment and raising anticipation for her action-packed transformation.
“Hi-5”; is set to hit theaters on June 3.
