Chef Lim Yoona not only captures King Lee Chae Min ’s palate, but also his heart in tvN’s upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty”!
Based on a popular web novel, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama starring Lim Yoona as Yeon Ji Young, an award-winning French chef who winds up traveling 500 years back into the past. There, she meets despotic king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst of tyrants—and who also happens to be a discerning gourmet.
Yeon Ji Young is on the cusp of becoming the head chef at a prestigious three-star restaurant after winning a French cooking competition. But just before reaching that milestone, an unexpected incident sends her back in time. Struggling to adapt to the unfamiliar era, she comes face-to-face with the infamous King Lee Heon. To survive, she must rely on her culinary skills to win over the gourmet king’s taste buds.
However, the road ahead is far from smooth. Lee Heon not only possesses an extraordinarily discerning palate that can detect even the subtlest of flavor differences, but also has a sharp, distrustful nature that makes him nearly impossible to please. With her strange, modern appearance and out-of-place behavior, Yeon Ji Young appears more like a ghostly intruder than a royal chef—raising the question: can she truly win over the picky king and survive in his world?
Newly released stills offer a glimpse into the evolving dynamic between the chef and the tyrant. In one image, Lee Heon draws his bow at Yeon Ji Young, clearly suspicious of the woman in strange clothing. Later, after narrowly escaping the situation, she’s seen inside the palace serving food to the king, her face tense with nerves while Lee Heon observes her with an unreadable expression—stirring curiosity about what he’s truly thinking.
The final still captures a moment of unexpected closeness between the two. As the intimidating king towers over her, Yeon Ji Young’s wide, startled eyes heighten anticipation for how their relationship will develop.
“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” will premiere on August 23 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
