It's uncommon for everyone in my life to desire the same gadget simultaneously, but recently, I've been inundated with inquiries about LED masks.

Do I really need one? What are their benefits? Which one is the best? After months of testing three different models, here’s my experience.

Budget

Stylpro Wavelength LED Face Mask, £99.99, Boots.com

I believe there isn’t a better value LED mask available.

This mask features blue light (which helps eliminate acne-causing bacteria), red light (to enhance collagen production, improve skin texture, and add radiance), and near-infrared light (to aid skin regeneration).

The flexible design makes it ideal for travel and storage, as it can lie flat, and it’s more comfortable to wear than the rigid masks like Shark's.

Each of the four programs lasts ten minutes, and the battery can last a week before needing a recharge. It’s the one I use most frequently.

Mid-Range

Shark CryoGlow Under-Eye Cooling & LED Anti-Ageing & Blemish Repair Mask, £299.99, johnlewis.com

This was the first mask I tried, and I was immediately impressed.

I appreciate that it tracks your sessions each time you use it, allowing you to monitor your progress.

Another significant advantage is the short and varied program lengths, making it easy to fit a session into a busy schedule. I also like that it provides both blue and red LED light to address a range of issues.

My mother enjoys the cooling eye patches, but I wish they were detachable – that's one area where I could benefit from the collagen-boosting red light the most, so it's unfortunate to miss out on that.

Luxury

Current Body LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2, £399.99, currentbody.com

This mask differs significantly from the others as it only offers red light.

If your primary concern is anti-aging, this won't be an issue, but if you want to tackle breakouts, it’s a notable drawback. Aside from that, I can't identify any flaws.

With 236 LED lights, it has nearly double the number of the other masks, providing more even coverage on the skin. I also really appreciate the under-chin strap – an often overlooked area.

It is the most comfortable of the three.

Pick of the Week

I’m a huge fan of Marks and Spencer’s fantastic value Discover fragrance line.

So you can imagine my excitement when I learned that the retailer is transforming the four best-selling scents – White Coconut, Pink Pepper, Warm Neroli, and Soft Iris – into enhanced Eau De Parfum versions.

At £16 for 50ml, they remain an incredible bargain.
