Isak Andic's Son Under Scrutiny Following Fashion Mogul's Baffling 320ft Hiking Fall

An investigation into the death of a billionaire has taken a surprising turn as the son of the fashion mogul, who was the sole witness to the incident, has now been identified as a suspect.

Recently, it was disclosed that Jonathan, 44, is being formally investigated for homicide, following the reopening of the case in March due to discrepancies in his statements.

The investigating judge has now shifted Jonathan’s status from witness to suspect.

The judge has also permitted police to examine the contents of his phone, according to reports from The Times.

Initially, police deemed the fatal fall to be accidental, but they have since reconsidered due to “contradictory statements” and “uncertainties” in Jonathan’s two accounts of the incident.

He reportedly informed the police that he had parked his car in one location, but it was found in another, and he claimed he had not taken photos of the area when he actually had.

According to El Pais, his account did not correspond with the forensic evidence gathered at the scene.

Authorities have also referenced testimony from Andic’s partner, golfer Estefania Knuth.

She described the relationship between father and son as strained.

To date, no direct evidence of foul play has been uncovered, but both the court and police have remained tight-lipped as a secrecy order has been placed on the case.

This order restricts the amount of information that public officials can disclose to the public.

The Catalan High Court of Justice provided a minimal comment to local media on Thursday evening, stating: “We inform you that we have no information about the proceedings.”

Local police also refrained from commenting on the case on Friday morning. “This matter is being handled by the courts and furthermore, there’s a secrecy order in effect,” a spokesperson stated.

Andic’s family issued a statement to the Spanish media, saying: “The Andic family has not commented, and will not comment on Isak Andic’s death.”

“They wish to respect the ongoing proceedings and will continue to cooperate fully with the authorities.

“The family is confident that this process will soon conclude and that Jonathan Andic’s innocence will be established.”

In January, police continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fall.

At that time, authorities questioned Andic’s chauffeur and a police officer who had responded to the scene.

At that time, authorities insisted they were still considering the death an accident.

Isak and Jonathan had been walking along the Les Feixades path, a trail connecting the Salnitre Caves in Collbato with the Montserrat monastery—a route commonly used by families without difficulty.

Investigators have characterized the trail as “not particularly dangerous.”

On their way back, just meters from the parking area at the foot of the Montserrat monastery, Jonathan reported hearing a sound of stones falling behind him.

He was walking ahead when he turned to see his father fall off the cliff at an unfenced area.

Isak died instantly.

The Mossos d’Esquadra—the Catalan regional police—have found no conclusive evidence of homicide, but state that a combination of contradictions and circumstantial evidence warranted reopening the case.

No other witnesses to the fall have emerged, and no charges have been filed.

Jonathan is one of Andic’s three adult children.

The fashion mogul also had two daughters, Judith and Sarah.
