The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has ramped up its enforcement campaign against environmental violators, shutting down several businesses in the Ikorodu area for ongoing infractions, including noise pollution and other environmental breaches.

The enforcement operation, which occurred at key locations such as Agodo Gas Line, Odogunyan Industrial Layout, Ita Oluwo Junction, Haruna, Ipakodo Road, and Ebute, focused on facilities that have been repeatedly found in violation of the state’s environmental regulations.

Among the establishments affected were Zero Square Bar & Lounge, Starex Poly, Oloruntele Poly, Limpex Resources, Skipper Nigeria Ltd, Star Rain Nigeria Ltd, NDO Hotel & Suites, Embassy Lounge, Beechwood Guest House, Obas Hotel & Suites, and A-Star Pencil.

During the operation, LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding the environment and ensuring healthier living conditions for the residents of Lagos.

“Noise pollution and other environmental violations pose significant risks to public health and the overall quality of life. This enforcement action demonstrates our resolve to uphold environmental standards and foster a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Lagos,” Ajayi stated.

He mentioned that this operation is part of LASEPA’s wider mandate to restore environmental order across the state, emphasizing that similar actions would be carried out in other areas of Lagos.

Dr. Ajayi also urged business owners and residents to fully adhere to environmental regulations, cautioning that the agency would maintain its zero-tolerance stance against any form of pollution or environmental degradation.
