Benfica manager, Jose Mourinho, has insisted that he has not been contacted by Real Madrid regarding becoming the club’s next head coach.

Mourinho stated this at his pre-match press conference ahead of Benfica’s clash with Braga on Sunday.

Recall that the Portuguese has been heavily linked with the Real Madrid coaching job in the past few days.

Real Madrid is still searching for a permanent coach after sacking Xabi Alonso a few months ago.

The Los Blancos appointed Alvaro Arbeloa as a caretaker manager until the end of the season.

However, when asked about whether Real Madrid has contacted him, Mourinho said, “I have not had any contact with the Real Madrid club management, and due to my own decision, especially at the end of the season.

“I will not discuss these matters with anyone. I will not talk about it,” he further stated.
