Former Real Madrid manager, Fabio Capello has sent a warning to Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso ahead of his appointment as Los Blancos manager in the coming days.
Alonso is being lined up by Real Madrid as the replacement for current manager Carlo Ancelotti, who is taking up the Brazil national team coach’s role this summer.
Speaking on El Partizado de Cope, Capello warned Alonso that managing Real Madrid is more difficult compared to other clubs.
“Xabi Alonso has done some great things. That may be true, but managing Real Madrid is completely different,”;; Capello said.
“It’s something else. It is more difficult and more important.”;;
Just like Ancelotti, Capello also has two stints in charge of Real Madrid.
The former England manager won LaLiga in each of his spells in 1997 and 2007, respectively.
The 78-year-old was sacked by the Los Blancos after one season in June 2007 despite winning the league title.
The Italian is well aware of the demands at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, Alonso, who recently announced his exit from Bayer Leverkusen, will take charge of Real Madrid from June.
