A MAN has appeared in court charged over alleged arson attacks at homes and a car linked to Sir Keir Starmer.
Roman Lavrynovych was held after the Prime Minister’s former family home in North was allegedly firebombed on Monday.
A car in the same street was also pictured in flames after it was set alight last week, it is said.
There was a third blaze at the front door of a home that has been converted into flats in Islington that is linked to the PM as well.
Ukrainian national Lavrynovych appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ today.
He is charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life.
Lavrynovych spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
He was remanded into custody.
London Fire Brigade were scrambled to Starmer’s former Kentish Town home at around 1.11am.
They confirmed there was was “damage”;; to the front of the townhouse, which the Starmer family lived in before he was Prime Minister, but no one was hurt.
The alleged arson attack was linked to a 4×4 that was parked on the same street and sold toneighbours by Starmer.
Fire Crews were also called to the Islington home on Sunday where one person was taken to safety via an internal staircase.
Officers from the Met’s Counter Command led the investigation because of the connections to the PM.
Starmer slammed the alleged arson attacks, saying: “This is an attack on all of us, democracy and the values that we stand for.”;;
The head of the counter terrorism division, Bethan David, said: “These charges relate to two fires at residential addresses in Islington on Sunday May 11 and in Kentish Town on Monday May 12, as well as a car fire in Kentish Town on Thursday May 8.
“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against this defendant are now active and that he has the right to a fair trial.”;;
