The Kebbi State Executive Council has held a special valedictory session in honour of the late Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (Rtd.), Gomo II.

The session, chaired by Deputy Governor Senator Umar Abubakar-Tafida, paid tribute to the late monarch, describing him as a pillar of wisdom who played a key role in promoting peace, stability, and unity in the state.

Briefing journalists after the meeting in Birnin Kebbi, Commissioner for Agriculture, Shehu Ma’azu, said the late emir’s military background influenced policies that improved lives in the state.

In a statement by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, the council prayed for Allah to forgive the late emir’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.

The council also discussed measures to mitigate flooding, urging residents to clear drainages and adopt preventive steps. It further reviewed the ongoing voter registration exercise, directing government officials to mobilize citizens in their local government areas.
