Kebbi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting security agencies in the fight against banditry and insurgency across the state.

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Birnin Kebbi, disclosed this on Friday while receiving the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Isma’il Gusau, in Birnin Kebbi.

He said the administration has been providing logistics, allowances, and intelligence support to security operatives and would sustain such interventions.

The commissioner also urged the Defence Headquarters to convene a town hall meeting involving traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, and community heads to strengthen intelligence-sharing and community participation in security operations.

In his remarks, Gusau said his visit was to assess military media collaboration in Kebbi and the wider North West. He commended Governor Idris for his support to security agencies, which he said had contributed to restoring calm in affected communities.
