FOOTBALL LEGANDS Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Jill Scott have all picked different players for this season’s Player of the Year.

Given how competitve the season has been it’s unsurprisingly they can’t agree on a winner.

The quartet were asked on The Overlap to name their standout performer of the campaign, but each went in a completely different direction.

Neville backed Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, saying: “I’m going with Bruno Fernandes. I don’t put above both Bruno Fernandes and .”

For Neville, Fernandes’ influence has been impossible to ignore, particularly during a difficult season for United.

He believes the Portuguese midfielder has consistently “raised the level” of those around him with his leadership and performances.

Roy Keane, meanwhile, went for star Bernardo Silva, but only under certain conditions.

Keane said: “If Manchester City win all three domestic trophies: Bernardo Silva.”

The former United skipper was clear that City’s success would heavily influence his choice.

Ian Wright took a different view entirely, insisting Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice must be in the conversation.

Wright said Rice’s impact cannot be ignored, especially with Arsenal pushing at the top end of the table.

Jill Scott, however, opted for talisman , praising his consistency in a struggling side.

Fernandes, though, continues to divide opinion, but few doubt his importance at United, where he remains the main creative force even in turbulent times.

Bowen’s case is equally strong, with eight Premier League goals this season and a reputation for reliability as West Ham battle to stay clear of relegation.

And for Silva, even in what could be his final season at City, his class still shines through, including a standout display against Arsenal where he even won an unlikely header over .
