LONG before she was living the glam life of a former footballer’s wife, Kate Ferdinand’s very public relationship with ex-boyfriend Dan Edgar played out in front of millions on The Only Way is Essex.

During the early days of her romance with , 47, she was still a star on ITV’s and just before quitting the show for good , 35, had a huge fall-out with , who confessed to sharing a kiss with , 36, before they became friends.

Fast-forward almost a decade and in a move, we’re told, has understandably left Kate with some questions.

A well-placed insider told The Sun: “It’s a tough one for Kate. Her life is so very different now and all of that feels like a million years ago.

“But when she heard Dan and Chloe were together, naturally it raised questions in her mind.

“There has clearly always been something between them and it’s only human for Kate to wonder just how close they were while she and Dan were together.”

During an episode of Towie in 2017, Chloe was left in tears after confessing to Kate she and Dan had kissed in the past – weeks after Kate and Dan’s six-year relationship came to an end.

Chloe said at the time: “I just want to make it clear, it was way, way before I knew you and then once I got close with you and [Georgia Kousoulou], I just thought to myself. ‘How the hell am I going to turn around and tell you’.”

In a later episode, Kate accused Chloe of flirting with Dan following their split and branded her “snakey”.

She told her: “You don’t have to explain things to me. I thought we moved on but I’ve seen you with Dan flirting. I think you’re really snakey.”

The Sun understands that, while Kate knows Chloe doesn’t have any loyalty to her, she can’t help but think it suggests more went on during that time period than she was told about.

The source said: “If anything, it makes her even more grateful that all of the Essex drama is far behind her.

“She and Chloe were never very close so she’s not breaking any kind of girl code but it would all be a little too close to home for Kate if the shoe was on the over foot.”

The Sun has reached out to Kate’s representative for comment.

Earlier this month Chloe and Dan finally confirmed their relationship, sharing a loved-up snap from a holiday to Marbella – a year after rumours about their romance first started.

After were aired out on Towie, Dan has confirmed he plans to do things differently this time around and keep his love life off-screen.

He told Closer : “I’m happy with how it is at the moment and it being separate.

“I’m in a good place with it all. Things are going well at the moment.”

As for Kate? We’re told the only thing she’s taking from this is that she was right to trust her gut instinct all those years ago.
