KAREN Hauer insists she is happy with her new life after being axed from Strictly Come Dancing ahead of the latest series kicking off tonight.

The World Mambo Champion starred on as a pro dancer for 14 years but was one of those dropped in a mass cull of talent by the Beeb last year.

T will not only see a swathe of new pro dancers, but a fresh set of hosts after Claudia Winkelman and Tess Daly said goodbye.

Despite Strictly being a part of her life for so long, Karen promises that she does not miss her old job because it was so “intense.”

“I have some great memories from Strictly, but do I miss being in it? No. I like having a little less stress and a little bit more time,” Karen told the Daily Mail.

“I know the process and I know how hard it is. I love seeing the new trailers and it’s great seeing that energy, but I’m loving my time now. I feel very positive.”

After her axing, Karenand is currently starring in the touring production of Stepping Out, in the role of dance teacher Mavis.

And it’s thanks to that role that she won’t be tuning in tonight, because she will be on stage performing her heart out.

Jumping straight back into work is what helped Karen deal with losing Strictly, but is also boosted her beloved pooches and

“I feel like I haven’t stopped in a way, and I think mentally that’s great,” she said.

“I’ve never just laid down and cried about things, I don’t have time for that… I feel really good. I have a really good circle of friends around me that are supportive and my partner Simon and my dogs.”

The pro dancer is excited as the rest of us to see how new hosts, , comedian , and beloved former Strictly professional fare on their first night.
