Violence has broken out in Kano and lasted for 24 hours at Kurna Kan Mayanka, leading to the death of three people.
Reports indicate that the crises started at about 11:00a.m on Sunday after a wedding ceremony.
DAILY POST gathered that a group of thugs attacked the some young men without warning just after the wedding.
Sani Dambazau, a resident close to the area confirmed this to DAILY POST, adding that among the dead is one Umar Umar Na-mani, and there are fears the number of deaths could rise.
Abubakar Umar, brother to one of the deceased said, “he was in his shop, the thugs came and took his goods, he tried to stop them, they stabbed him and took all his properties.”;
He prayed to Allah SWT to avenge them soonest.
Residents are still living in fear of reprisal attacks, while some have already abandoned their homes to safety.
The Kano police command is yet to make a public announcement, as efforts to reach the DSP Hussaini Abdullahi, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer proved abortive.
