Kano Gov approves appointment of 19 new senior special assistants

Kano State government has approved the appointment of new Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) across diverse portfolios.

The announcement was made on Friday through a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

According to the statement, the new appointments are designed to further align governance with the needs of citizens and accelerate delivery in strategic sectors including health, education, women’s empowerment, transportation, sanitation, and public mobilization.

Among those appointed are Hon. Sunusi Kata Madobi as SSA on Radio I, replacing the late Abdullahi Tanka; Mika’ilu Shu’aibu (Ghari) as SSA on Hisbah; and Muhktar Abdullahi Shuwaki (Ghari) as SSA on Land.

Also on the list are Engr. Sagir Lawan Waziri (Ghari) who will oversee Corporate Social Responsibility (Works); Najeef Abdulsalam, SSA on Yan Akwati (Men); and Huwaila Iguda, SSA on Yan Akwati (Women).

Others include Naziru Hamidu Bako, assigned to KAROTA; Usman Abbas Sunusi for Protocol II; and Engr. Usman Kofar Naisa, who will manage affairs at the Mahaha Sports Complex.

Danladi Alhassan Mai-Bulala was appointed SSA on Public Mobilization II, while Abdulkhadir Umar Kwankwaso will handle Education-related duties in Abuja.

Balarabe Aminu Yusuf, formerly a Personal Assistant (Domestic), has been elevated to SSA on Domestic III (Guest Government House). Shukurana Garba Langel will serve as SSA on Public Mobilization (Kano North), and Mustapha Ma’aruf Diso takes charge of Primary Healthcare.

Other key appointments include Garba Yahaya Labour as SSA on Transportation I, Humaira Sharif on Women Enlightenment, and Muttaka Sani Gaya on Support Groups III.

Also named are Gausu Nuhu Wali, SSA on Indigenous Artists, and Hadiza Sale (popularly known as Baby), SSA on Sanitation.

The state government expressed confidence that these appointees will bring energy, experience, and dedication to their respective roles, helping to drive the vision of a more inclusive and people-centered governance.
