MANCHESTER CITY clash with Italian heavyweights Juventus in their third and final Club World Cup group-stage fixture in Orlando, Florida.
Juventus vs Man City preview
Juventus and Manchester City, both already through to the knockout stages of the Club World Cup, clash at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium on Thursday.
The Italian side have been unexpectedly ruthless so far, hammering Al-Ain 5-0 and cruising past Wydad 4-1.
City have looked just as sharp.
After a 2-0 win over Wydad, they demolished Al-Ain 6-0 â a game which manager Pep Guardiola made wholesale changes for with new signing Rayan Ait-Nouri and teenage talent Claudio Echeverri impressing.
But Thursday’s clash is no dead rubber.
Victory is essential for City if they are to finish top of the group and avoid a potential semi-final showdown with the winners of Real Madrid’s group.
With Madrid strong favourites to top their section, the prize for winning here is a more favourable route â most likely a last-16 meeting with either Al-Hilal or RB Salzburg.
The Cityzens enter as favourites with the bookmakers, although Juventus will fancy their chances given they beat City 2-0 in the UCL league phase back in December.
But City, the Club World Cup holders, are in excellent touch having won four on the bounce and finished the Premier League campaign with just one defeat in 11 â that arrived in March!

Erling’s back
Hardly an original suggestion, but Manchester City talisman Erling Haaland should add to his tournament tally on Thursday.
The Norwegian, 24, netted against Al-Ain and now has four goals in his last five appearances for club and country. Nobody in the competition has fired off more shots on target (5) or shots per 90 (5.95). He looks back to his best â especially with City’s new additions and the return of Rodri.

First home goalscorer
If Juventus are to breach the Manchester City defence, it’s more than likely to come via the boot of forward Randal Kolo Muani.
The 26-year-old has netted 10 goals in 21 appearances for Juventus, including a brace against Al-Ain during their 5-0 rout. Nobody in his side have fired off more shots (5) or shots on target (3) than the Frenchman.
