JORDAN PICKFORD is facing the fight of his career to keep his England shirt.

The stopper, 32, heads into Sunday’s Premier League showdown against Hull City aiming for a fourth-straight clean sheet in all competitions for the Blues.

Throw in another two for over the international break and you could be forgiven for thinking his spot as the country’s No1 was assured.

But the 93-capped star’s international place is under threat for the first time in almost a decade after he was benched twice for his country in favour of James Trafford over the past three weeks.

With England boss watching his every move — and Leeds’ Trafford breathing down his neck — cannot afford any slip-ups at the MKM Stadium.

And legendary Three Lions ‘keeper David Seaman says the Everton stalwart MUST perform under the intense heat of competition if he wants to be Tuchel’s first-choice come Euro 2028.

Speaking via Betway , Seaman said: “That’s going to be close. When you look at Jordan and what he’s done for England, you’re not really expecting him to be left out.

“But James is going to be pushing him now, and this is what he needs.

“Now Trafford’s playing for Leeds regularly, and he’s been given the nod by Tuchel to show that he trusts him against the world champions Spain.

“That was a massive boost of confidence for James Trafford. We saw a goalkeeper that’s very capable of performing at that level.

“I’m 50/50, if I’m honest, and that’s because of how highly I rate James Trafford.

“Jordan’s level is up there because of what he’s doing for England, and he’s now doing it more regularly for Everton as well.

“It wasn’t his best World Cup, he knows that, but he’s still got all that experience. Now it’s about seeing how he can perform when there’s a real contender.”
