THEY’VE only been dating for eight months but JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are about to hit a huge relationship milestone… spending their first Christmas together.

It’s a big achievement for the couple whose romance has weathered an inordinate amount of scrutiny, ridicule and ‘showmance’ jibes. But their candid festive confessions – including what is hoping for under the tree – are sure to silence the haters once and for all and delight their devoted fans.

In their only joint interview, the pair – who are all relaxed and glowy after their first solo holiday together in the – told me how they’re taking up a notch this .

“It’s my first Christmas away from my family – and in , too!” JoJo, 22, reveals.

“We’re going to be at Chris’ family’s house in the for the big day but will spend the week before with my family in .”

‘My mother is absolutely delighted’

“You can imagine how her mum Jess feels,” , 32, adds. “But she will be alright. I’ll sweeten her up with a lovely present.

“My mother is absolutely delighted you are going to be in the Cotswolds. She had been asking me for weeks and weeks, ‘what’s JoJo doing for Christmas?’ I actually said ‘Mum, chill out.’ It was relentless.

“My mum just loves Christmas so much. She’s 72 and she has Christmas decorations that are over half a century old.”

Speaking to me in July, the former turned Coral horse-riding ambassador was the first to admit he “never would have believed it in a million years” that he’d fall head over heels for JoJo.

Particularly as, when she entered the famous house, JoJo was in a relationship with 27-year-old Australian actor , who identifies as non-binary.

Chris had been single since 2022 – having previously been in with fellow Love Islander , star and professional golfer .

JoJo, or Joelle as he likes to call her (she refers to him as “my sweet Christopher”), joined him on our shoot and I saw first hand that their romance was the real deal – they couldn’t keep their hands off each other!

I then and my chat truly confirmed that they’re soulmates.

So I wasn’t surprised that this December 25th, they’re planning a movie-style affair.

We’re going to be at Chris’ family’s house in the Cotswolds for the big day but will spend the week before with my family in Los Angeles

“When every American asks me where I’m from and I say England and they ask ‘whereabouts?’ I say ‘have you seen The Holiday? I was born and bred where it’s set in the Cotswolds.’” Chris says.

“It’s just like the – but without the . JoJo keeps hoping we are going to get snow on Christmas Day, but we never do.”

“Your mum told me that there’s a little percent of a chance,” JoJo laughs. “We should watch The Holiday. I’ve never seen it.”

The pair are also thinking about what special presents to get each other with JoJo having to buy a lot as Chris’ birthday is just three days earlier.

She’s planning to get him 33 gifts – one for each year.

“I have this one nice present that I think I’m going to get Chris for Christmas,” she says. “So his birthday and Christmas are right next to each other.

“I’ve started to do all my shopping because I’m really excited to wrap this year. I got everyone different wrapping papers. His birthday has a separate wrapping paper too.

“I’ve gotten everybody pretty good gifts on a budget this year. I’ve done pretty well. But there is one nice gift for Christmas because his birthday is a lot of little stuff. I wanted to get him one thing that he said he wanted.”

Chris interrupts: “I never said I wanted it. I don’t want anything. I just want your presence. Your physical presence.”

JoJo laughs: “You said you wanted it. Your presents and presence I’ll be there for both.”

And with JoJo being worth an estimated £15m, Chris has his work cut out for him to find her the perfect gift.

Chris explains: “Yeah, I’m going to have to go down the old sentimental route because I feel like it’s hard to get stuff for someone who can get what they want. So for me, I’m all about sentiment.”

What about a sentimental ring for her left hand?

JoJo’s eyes light up: “A ring?”

When she was on the cover of Fabulous Magazine JoJo told me she had on the brain as her brother Jayden was tying the knot and had asked Chris to be one of his groomsmen.

She explained: “So I’m a bridesmaid and he’s a groomsman. Helping my brother plan his wedding right now is torture for me.”

Talking about her big day, she added: “A wedding is a two-person thing. So we would have to decide what it looks like. But I do know that I want it to have a baby-blue colour scheme and I need to help Chris make the playlist.

“Otherwise, it’ll be all songs I don’t know! He likes to educate me on music. He loves and all these boy bands, but I don’t know any of them as they are British. Give me some NSYNC or Backstreet Boys!”

But she might have a bit longer to wait before she gets to go up the aisle herself as Chris admits: “Not just yet. You always get people who get engaged at Christmas. I see it on every year. I like the idea of it not being at a time where it could be expected.”

JoJo laughs: “Alright, you’re keeping me guessing, aren’t you? When he asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I said ‘a ring.’ And he said ‘really?’. I replied ‘A Ring doorbell!’ [chuckles]. But what if I got HIM a ring?”

“You can’t,” Chris says firmly. “I don’t think you should propose. I don’t agree.”

JoJo asks: “But what if I did? You’d say no?”

‘Matching pyjamas’

“I don’t know,” he admits. “I’ve spoken to people about this before you, obviously. And I actually said, ‘I think if I was proposed to, that would make me really uncomfortable.’”

Luckily JoJo has agreed not to pop the question as long as Chris does it himself in a timely period.

“Listen, I wouldn’t do it unless you waited seven years,” she explains. “And then I’d be like, ‘alright, my ass is getting down on the knee then’. If you waited too long, I’d be like, ‘okay.’”

Chris agrees: “That’s fair. It shouldn’t take you seven years to work out if you want to marry someone. So you can go off that and then that won’t ever happen.”

“Just so you know, May 27th 2032, I will be down on one knee,” she teases. “I will not wait one extra day!”

As well as presents, the pair are also planning some festive outfits.

“All banter aside, I think we have to go for matching pyjamas,” reveals Chris.

“I completely agree,” JoJo nods. “I’ve started ordering some outfits online. I’m in a Christmas pyjama phase right now. Never gone through one of those for Christmas, but I ordered a bunch. shop sells a lot of good Christmas clothes right now, so I might have a couple of fun outfits.”

With Jojo being from Nebraska and Chris being from the Cotswolds, the couple have also had to blend their traditions for their Christmas lunch.

“I’m excited for the turkey,” JoJo admits.

“It’s our own turkey off the farm as well,” Chris says.

“We always have turkey, chicken, sometimes lamb, sometimes beef. We have gammon as well. We have four meats. They’re all like our own home-grown. Roast potatoes are obviously essential.

“Mashed potato. We have sprouts because dad likes them. He feels like it’s very festive. Then we have swede, parsnips, cauliflower cheese, peas and carrots.”

Despite Chris being a semi-finalist he leaves the to his dad but JoJo who loves being in the kitchen is keen to get involved and is planning to make her delicacy green bean casserole – something Chris isn’t convinced about.

“I’m not sure about putting in the plate with a roast. You’ve got to understand, I’m extremely British when it comes to delicacies. So for me it’s like having full English and then putting like fish on it.”

Jojo shakes her head: “You are an American. You have to adapt some of my traditions too. It’s my favorite dish for and Christmas.

“It’s cream of mushroom soup and then it’s green beans. You bake it and then it has cheese and onions. So what we’ve learned is it’s his way or the highway!”

Chris adds: “No, although it is with a roast dinner. [laughs] Seriously my dad is loving that you are going to get hands on with the cooking.”

Chris admitted that some people will continue to doubt the authenticity of their relationship because of the way they first met on TV – but said it doesn’t bother him.

They reassured fans that they were still going strong and have a busy 12 months ahead – romantically and professionally.

Chris said: “I think anyone who meets someone on , I don’t think it matters who it would be, there would be some people who would doubt it.

“I don’t think you can read into that too much. We’re just bobbing and weaving and ducking and diving, kicking along.”

JoJo added: “Figuring out as we go.”
