Joey, who sadly this month, said he’s realised how precious life can be.
He insisted he has no time for family drama in his life as he focuses on his father, who is heartbroken after losing his brother.
Joey said if there was a time for his family to come together then it is now.
He shared: “I honestly think it’s [the feud] nothing to do with me and I have more important things on my mind right now.
“Sadly my uncle passed away a couple of weeks ago, more importantly for me is to be there for my dad.
“He’ll be greatly missed, he was a great uncle, I loved him to pieces. What’s sad about it is I know how much my uncle Greg loved me, he loved me so much.
“It’s been a sad time, I’ll be honest. Life has to go on, I’m going to be strong for my dad and he’s going to be strong for me.
“We’re going to have the best Christmas we possibly can.
“It was very shocking. It shows you in life you’ve got to be there and be with family and family is so important.
“It makes you realise that you can be here today and you should be with family around Christmas and you’ve got to cherish that.”
Joey insisted he’s on good terms with everyone in his family and doesn’t feel like he’s been put in the middle – despite his cousins still not on speaking terms.
Although the fallout has had a huge strain on the family, Joey said it hasn’t affected him and he won’t let it.
He told us: “I’m that guy, I talk to everyone, I talk to my sister, I talk to my dad, all my family, my uncle, my aunts, my cousins and nothing will ever change that no matter how much things get in the way of my career.
“I’ll always talk to every single member of my family and love them forever, that’s how I am. I’m friends with everyone.”
Chloe, Frankie, Demi, Charlie and Georgia upped sticks to LA three years ago after to film a series about their efforts to make it in America.
Although Joey was not part of the show, he also flew back and forth from Essex to to see his family.

Although Los Angeles holds a special place in his heart, Joey said he’ll be spending Christmas in Essex with his family, while cousin Chloe is also taking a short break from the US for the festive period.
He said: “I’m seeing Chloe [Sims] on Boxing Day, we’re going round to Chloe’s. I am going to see my dad for Christmas Day and my sister and her twins.
“I’m going to see all the family really, there’s a few houses I’m going to visit. I’m going to be like Santa on Christmas Day.
“Chloe’s back in Essex at the minute, she’s always travelling, she’s always in America, she loves it. LA is great, who doesn’t love it, the palm trees, the sun. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”
The Sims family headed stateside in a bid to break America with their TV reality series House of Sims.

After weeks of simmering tensions, things finally came to a head after Frankie and Demi learned that – making it difficult for them to build a credit score in their new country.
They were unhappy as all four siblings were paying equally towards the apartment, yet Georgia wasn’t contributing financially and still getting credit.
The clash Chloe branding her sisters ‘evil users’ and Frankie and Demi leaving LA for good – ultimately putting the third series on hold.
Joey has now revealed the real reason why the series may never return.
He said: “I think they should do another series, even if there is some type of whatever is going on with them – that is what TV is, it’s drama.”
But he added: “I think my family has a lot of respect for each other, so maybe they don’t want to put that on TV.
“But honestly from the bottom of my heart I haven’t spoken to them about it or got involved.”
With a big question mark over the future of House of Sims, Joey – who starred with Chloe on Towie from 2011 to 2014 – said to watch this space.
The TV favourite said he’s set for the screens next year and while he’s in America he wouldn’t be against signing up for his own fly-on-the-wall reality show.
“Never say never, I’m sure Chloe would love to do that and I think that would be great,” he said.
“Me and Chloe have a really close relationship and we really get on well.
“You never know, never say never that could happen.
“I have got things potentially going on in America next year, hopefully I’m hitting the Hollywood screens.”
With Christmas being a big time for his family, Joey has teamed up with Amazon to show Brits how to effortlessly level up their Christmas lights using Alexa and smart home technology.
In a hilarious new film that channels the chaos of classic Christmas comedy moments, Joey and his beloved nan Linda Sims transforms his Essex home into a winter wonderland.
The video follows Joey as he takes Linda outside for the big reveal of his epic lights display – only to discover the plug switch doesn’t work.
Just as disaster strikes, Joey remembers his home is smart, thanks to Alexa and with one simple voice command, his house lights up with over 25,000 twinkling bulbs.
It showcases how easy it is for anyone to control their Christmas lights using Alexa and smart plugs, with Joey’s Blink Video Doorbell even getting in on the festive action.
Alexa users can also create their own custom commands, choosing exactly how they’d like to switch on their decorations – whether that’s “Alexa, light up Christmas” or “Alexa, let it glow.”
Joey said: “This campaign means a lot for me, it’s with my nan. It’s a very special memory to do with my nan, she’s absolutely loved it.
“I feel like everyone is going to be very lit.”

A source at the time said: “Chloe’s fallen out with her sisters big time.
“They’ve gone their separate ways after a huge fight broke out in LA, where they’d been filming the show.
“Chloe’s decided to stay out there while Frankie and Demi have left her and headed back home to Essex to pursue their own careers.”
Nearly two years on and an insider told the Sun that there is “still so much bad blood in the water”.
“Frankie and Demi basically feel like Chloe got too big for her boots after they moved to the States and started to believe her own hype. When they called her out on it, she chose their brother and Georgia over them because they never stood up to her or gave her a reality check,” a source said.
Last year, Chloe admitted she had regrets over the rift.
“They’re family and the last people I expected to have a falling out with, “ she said. “Obviously, I regretted my actions because I don’t want to be in that headspace, all stressed out and arguing. I just want a nice, easy life.”
She also explained that saying “It sounds really weird but I’ve realised that Chloe from TOWIE doesn’t exist any more.”
Meanwhile, when quizzed on whether she has had any contact with Chloe late last year, Frankie said: We are out of the loop so everything is pretty much the same as how it was.”
The siblings – who are the cousin of ‘s – all shot to fame on ITVBe’s .
Chloe joined the show in 2011 and their brother Charlie became a regular in 2013 and left in 2015.
