Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a decrease in the fare for the 2026 Hajj, with intending pilgrims now required to pay N7,669,769 instead of the earlier N8,457,685.
This information was shared in a press release signed by the Board's spokesperson, Habibu Yarima.
The Director General of the Commission, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, revealed this after signing the 2026 Hajj Agreement between the Federal Government and the Holy Land Authority.
He noted that a reduction of N787,916 was made possible due to the intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, currently in the Holy Land to arrange accommodations for Jigawa pilgrims in Mecca, stated that the commission has completed all preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
He also mentioned that the collection of Hajj fares for the upcoming 2026 Hajj would close next month and encouraged those who have not yet made deposits to do so promptly to ensure timely visa processing.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Umar Namadi for his ongoing cooperation and support to the Commission.
