The Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, has stated that his administration will provide full support to local government councils that promote transparency, ensure accountability, and implement initiatives that directly benefit the citizens.
This information was included in a statement signed by Hajiya Zainab Shu’aibu, Senior Special Assistant on Media Affairs, which was issued to DAILY POST.
Governor Namadi made this announcement during the launch of the Taura Local Government Council Chairman’s Mega Empowerment program held on Thursday.
He noted that the chairman, Hon. Shuaibu Hambali Zarga, has exhibited effective leadership by introducing an empowerment program designed to enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of the people in Taura. He added that this initiative aligns with the development goals of both the state and federal government.
He stated, “What we are witnessing today is in line with our Twelve-Point Agenda established by this administration, which aims to improve the lives of Jigawa State citizens, with a particular emphasis on youths, women, and children.”
He further mentioned, “The creation of the Jigawa State Youth Empowerment and Employment Agency (JSYEEA) serves as a strategic platform for job creation, skills development, and economic inclusion.”
“In accordance with our Twelve-Point Agenda, we are committed to creating opportunities that will empower our youths and women, reduce unemployment, and foster self-reliance across the state,” the governor asserted.
Governor Namadi also announced that the Jigawa State Government will soon empower an additional 1,000 beneficiaries in each of the 27 local government areas through the state’s Youth Empowerment and Employment Agency.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to collaborate with and support all local government councils that prioritize transparency, accountability, and programs focused on the people, emphasizing that meaningful development can only be achieved through effective cooperation between the state and local governments.
