Jigawa State Government has announced Monday, September 8, 2025, as resumption date for both public and private schools.

State Commissioner, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Professor Isa Yusuf Chamo, stated this in a statement signed by the ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Easily Umar, issued to DAILY POST.

He said the date marks the commencement of the 2025/2026 first-term academic session.

According to the statement, “Boarding students will resume schools on Sunday, 7th, while day students will be in their respective schools on Monday, 8th of September, for the immediate commencement of normal lessons.”

He appealed to parents/guardians to send their wards back to school on the resumption day as the ministry has provided all the necessary teaching aids that will facilitate effective teaching and learning in schools.

Prof. Isa Chamo then called on the teachers to be in their schools and ensure immediate commencement of lessons, as the ministry has posted its staff to monitor the resumption and commencement of lessons in schools across the state.
