The Jigawa State House of Assembly has enacted the State 2026 Appropriation Bill amounting to N901.8 billion, along with Local Government Budgets of N288 billion.
This passage follows the approval of the report from the House Committee on Appropriation, which was presented by the Committee Chairman, Hamza Ibrahim Adamu.
The budget, titled “Budget of Innovation and Transformation for Greater Jigawa II,” was initially introduced to the Assembly on November 25, 2025. It places a strong emphasis on capital projects (77%), education (over 26%), and agriculture, with the goal of enhancing development in the state.
The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Aliyu Dangyatim, announced the budget's approval during a plenary session, confirming that the budget has been sanctioned as proposed, totaling N901.841 billion.
According to Dangyatim, the budget allocation is strategic, with N693.4 billion designated for capital expenditure to promote infrastructure growth and development.
The budget reflects a 19.2% increase from 2025, demonstrating the state’s commitment to progress, Dangyatim stated.
The Assembly also commended Governor Umar Namadi for prioritizing innovation and transformation.
“This budget aligns with our vision for Jigawa,” the Speaker declared.
He further assured that they would continue collaborating with the executive branch to ensure the budget's implementation.
