JEREMY DOKU went viral for the strangest reason during Manchester City’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

And it had nothing to do with Doku’s performance after a rough night at Santiago Bernabeu that saw following a first-half hat-trick by Federico Valverde.

Instead, the winger looked like he DISAPPEARED momentarily from television screens.

The Belgium international drove the ball down the left wing where he was marked by stars Valverde and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

And suddenly the 23-year-old star faded away as if there was something wrong with the broadcast.

Football fans were left absolutely stunned as they took to social media.

One fan tweeted: “Glitch in the Matrix!”

Another commented: “Where did Jeremy Doku go here?!?”

A third joked: “He was doing an impression of a defender.”

This fan said: “I thought I was the only one that saw that.”

And that one added: “Twilight Zone!!!”

This could be down to the placed around the pitch.

The augmented reality system creates adverts specific to the viewer’s country, rather than being completely generic.

And thus the technology may have created a TV glitch around that part of the screen that included Doku.
