JEREMY Clarkson has entered the debate surrounding Britain’s ongoing litter issue, expressing an unexpected viewpoint on the matter.

The star of Clarkson’s Farm, 65, stated his strong disdain for litterbugs, advocating for stricter measures against them.

“You might have racists and paedophiles at the top of your dislike list, but for me, it’s litterbugs,” he remarked.

“I don’t support the death penalty, but I would make an exception for those who can’t be bothered to find a bin. Seriously.

“I would station snipers in trees and on top of bus shelters, and there would be no trials, no arrests, no reading of rights. Just blam. A bullet in your head, and your body disposed of in a skip.”

— who operates the 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire — criticized Britain’s “decorated” verges, stating: “There is no hedge in the country that doesn’t have a fridge in it.”

His tirade follows an incident where council “litter police” fined café patron Burcu Yesilyurt £150 in Richmond, southwest London.

The fine was later revoked after public uproar — but Clarkson believes the officers deserve recognition rather than ridicule.

He wrote in The Sunday Times : “Bravo to the council officers who fined a woman £150 for pouring something down a drain. This should be commended.”

“These officers are out there. Hard-working. Knowledgeable about the law.

“And ready to enforce it on everyone without fear or favor.

“Imagine if these officers, in proper uniforms, were on Oxford Street. Those phone thieves wouldn’t stand a chance.”

Clarkson, a long-time critic of litter louts, mentioned that he frequently discovers deflated helium balloons in his woods and would like to “strike the back of their hands with a hammer.”

He added that it is “sad” that Britain is still “far from” simply “putting a bullet in the heads of all litterbugs.”

His remarks come as a national survey revealed that over ninety percent of sites across the country are plagued by litter — and three-quarters of the public believe the situation is worsening.

More than half of respondents indicated that littering has become “normal behavior,” with 86 percent stating they would feel “embarrassed” to live in a heavily littered area, and 87 percent admitting it would deter them from moving there.

Clarkson's Stance on Littering

Burcu, a school welfare officer from Kew, expressed that she was left “shaken” when three enforcement officers pursued her down Richmond High Street earlier this month.

She told the BBC that she only poured “just a tiny little bit” from her reusable cup as her bus was approaching.

“As soon as I turned around, I noticed three men, enforcement officers, chasing me, and they stopped me immediately.”

Thinking they wanted to discuss her bus, she was stunned when they instead issued her a £150 fine under Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 — which prohibits waste that could contaminate land or water.

Burcu told The Sun that the experience was “incredibly intimidating” and “excessive.”

“I think they assumed I wouldn’t speak out against them and would just pay it… It was quite shocking.”

The mother of one stated she believed she was acting responsibly by disposing of the dregs before boarding.

“I didn’t want to create a mess on public transportation, and I didn’t want to pour it on the street,” she explained.
