JAMES MADDISON was taken off on a stretcher towards the end of Son Heung-min’s farewell Spurs match in Seoul.

Son was among those looking very concerned watching on after the England star was carried off.

Maddison missed the end of last season with a knee ligament injury.
The 28-year-old had only recently come on to the pitch before he went in for a routine challenge with Newcastle sub Anthony Elanga in the 83rd minute.

He then appeared to instantly feel some sort of pain, though he may not have even made contact with Elanga, and crumpled in a heap looking extremely distressed.

A stretcher was then called for and he was carried off with close mate Son, who had been subbed off 19 minutes earlier, holding a hand over his mouth in concern.
