JAMEELA Jamil has revealed that she nearly died and was rushed to hospital this summer.
, 40, has opened up about the horrifying experience of her wind pipe “closing up” and enduring “heart cramps” after being poisoned.
Writing in her latest Substack, A Low Desire To Please with Jameela Jamil , Jameela got candid about getting poisoned by mould this summer.
She explained how she suffers from MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome), which is a histamine disorder where the person develops severe random .
Jameela claimed in her Substack issue that she contracted mould poisoning from an air conditioning unit, which led to hospitalisation.
“I’ve been in and out of the emergency room all summer, armed to my eyeballs with epi pens, painkillers and supplements,” she wrote.
“My windpipe closes at random every 6-8 hours just for the love of the game!”
She then explained how the hospital ordered a CT scan and shot iodine into her veins, which led to her realising she is “deathly allergic to iodine”.
Jameela revealed that the iodine she received caused an allergic reaction so bad that she was “near cardiac arrest”.
She explained how she was aware she had a shellfish allergy, but this does not necessarily mean the patient has an allergy to iodine, which is why they did not note this on her chart in the ER.
Jameela then revealed that the reason for her mould poisoning was because there was mould in her AC unit.
She found the mould in the AC unit when her boyfriend bought a humidifier.
Recalling how her symptoms became “explosive”, Jameela detailed how she was “struggling to maintain consciousness” day to day.
She said she was slurring and spoke of how her face looked completely different, too.
She felt massive amounts of pressure in her head and then she looked up mould poisoning and decided to leave her room.
Within 15 minutes of leaving her room, her migraine had vanished.
She explained how she is not sure how long it will take for her to get completely better and “undo the damage”.
