The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has published comprehensive guidelines for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration process, along with a list of common challenges that candidates may face.

The announcement was made through its official X account on Sunday, stating that this initiative is designed to aid prospective candidates in preparing for the forthcoming registration.

“Candidates must ensure that their personal information, including their National Identification Number (NIN), email address, and A-Level results, is accurate before generating a profile code.”

“They are encouraged to send their 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 (for example, NIN 00000011111 to 55019/66019).

“Once a profile code is generated, it cannot be altered, and biodata will be automatically retrieved from NIMC.

“Candidates should then visit the nearest JAMB office or any approved CBT Centre to initiate the registration process.

“E-PINs should only be purchased from authorized sources, such as banks, online platforms, or vendors at the registration centres.

“Ensure that the correct registration template is provided and all information is accurate before final submission at the centre,” it stated.

The Board emphasized the significance of accurate data and cautioned that discrepancies could lead to complications.

“Candidates should make all necessary corrections with NIMC promptly and verify that the changes are reflected on their portal prior to registration (for example, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State of Origin).

“GSM numbers and email addresses serve as unique identifiers; they cannot be altered or shared and must be functional before registration.

“Candidates experiencing biometric issues during registration should visit the nearest JAMB office. No CBT centre should register a candidate against their will.

“Ensure that a dual screen is utilized during registration and confirm that your passport photograph and biometrics are captured accurately,” JAMB added.
