JAILED popstar Gary Glitter has pleaded not guilty to historic sex abuse allegations against a young girl.

Glitter, 82, is accused of assaulting in the late 1970s and early 1980s when the alleged victim was aged between eight and 11.

The singer – real name Paul Gadd – appeared at Southwark Crown Court today to plead not guilty to eight allegations of sexual abuse.

Glitter allegedly lured the girl to his home in West London with chocolate, it was said.

The court heard he made her touch his genitals and “engaged in unlawful sexual intercourse” with her.

Glitter denied four charges of indecent assault, two counts of indecency with a child, and two charges of sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13.

Judge Tony Baumgartner, the Recorder of Westminster, adjourned the case for a three-week trial starting on November 22 next year.

Police said the allegations were first reported to the Met on January 9, 2025.

Glitter was interviewed on July 22, 2025 in relation to the investigation.

Police said the girl is currently being supported by specialist officers, and they have been made aware of this update.

The ex-glam rocker is currently being held at category C HMP Channings Wood in Devon.

Glitter was one of the biggest stars of his time, selling 18million records in five years in the early 1970s.

He enjoyed transatlantic success with a string of hits including Rock And Roll (Parts One And Two), I’m The Leader Of The Gang (I Am), and Do You Wanna Touch Me.

Bethan David, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor in CPS London said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has decided to prosecute Paul Gadd with one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14.

“This follows allegations made by a woman relating to a period of alleged abuse that took place between 1978 and 1981.

“Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring this case to court and that it is in the public interest to do so.”
