Jack Catterall ‘will need plastic surgery’ after ‘one of worst cuts ever’ sees Harlem Eubank fight called off

JACK CATTERALL will need plastic surgery after suffering a gruesome injury in his fight against Harlem Eubank, according to two boxing legends.

Catterall, 32, in 22 fights on a disappointing technical decision after an accidental head clash got the fight called off after just six rounds.

Both fighters suffered nasty cuts above their eyes, which led to the bout being waved off and going to the judges amid a cacophony of boos.

, who won via unanimous decision with a score of 69-65, 69-66 and 69-66, suffered a wound that was far worse than Eubank’s.

That led to former world champions Carl Frampton and insisting El Gato will “definitely”; need plastic surgery.

The duo are adamant the cut is so deep that even 12 stitches wouldn’t do the trick.

In post fight analysis told DAZN: “That will definitely need plastic surgery. It’s so deep.

“There’s no chance that that can be simply stitched up. Ten to twelve stitches won’t do.”;

Bellew agreed: “100 per cent, he’ll need a specialist to sort that out.”;

Catterall, though, is just happy to be back to winning ways after only his second loss in 33 fights against Arnold Barboza Jr in February.

The Chorley star said: “Respect to , but I was breaking him down.

“It’s frustrating I couldn’t go through the gears. It’s a head clash and I just have to move on.

“The referee made the decision, it’s out of my control. He was slippery and tricky but I felt I was catching him with the cleaner shots.

“I am back in the win column now, after back-to-back defeats, so I now can get back in the big fights.”;
