AN ITV racing presenter sped off to steal a punter’s pint live on air â after almost gagging on “Britain’s hottest chicken wings”;;.
Former Luke Harvey found the going heavy after settinghimself an unwise challenge inbetween .
The heat was on Luke Harvey after this first mouthful
Needs must as Harvey grabs a pint despite meeting resistanceAnd he couldn’t even get over the hurdle of his first bite.
Harvey then left viewers stunnedwith his reaction.
But one man was even more shocked than armchair observers â that was the punter whose Guinness Harvey grabbed and downed!
ITV themselves posted a clip of the incident â and admitted their pundit might just have made a bad call this time.
The broadcaster wrote: “Maybe this was a mistake. The hottest chicken wings in Great Britain LIVE on ITV.”;;
Harvey began it all by approaching a food stall and asking if there were indeed no such wings more scorching in the country.
The reply included:“That is essentially true... get your safety goggles out!”;;
But immediately after his first taste, Harvey made a retching gesture, bent over in discomfort and waved his arms as if panicking.
He promptly dashed off to a nearby table of drinkers.
And spotting a besuited man holding a full pint, he ordered: “Oi, give me that! Give me that! Give me that!”;;
He needed to demand it three times â because the drink-holder was not only shocked, he was also resistant to release his glass.
Harvey grabbed it anyway â seeking at least a quarter of it in one go.
By that stage, the Guinness owner had developed a bemused half-smile â before Harvey staggered off, warning: “They are hot, they are hot, I’m telling you.”;;
He then strolled away insisting: “I’m going home”;;... but instead settling for stooping over a bin, where he wiped his forehead with a paper towel while still holding his microphone.
By now he was getting sympathy from his ITV colleagues.
And one pleaded on air: “Oh dear, poor, poor Luke â go and get that man another beer please... I think it’s fair to say â pray for Luke.”;;
One fan responded on X: “Performance of the Day: Luke Harvey who despite sweaty up and bolting sees out the ‘trip’.“
Another said of the man holding onto his Guinness: ”;;It will be £8 quid a pint and a 10 minute queue no wonder he didnt want to part with it.”;;
And a third commented on Harvey: “Hope he didn’t dodge his round on the Guinness.”;;
Meanwhile, many joked that he was lucky the incident was live on TV â or else he might not have got away with ‘stealing’ the beer.
