HUDDERSFIELD snatched a last-gasp victory at Leyton Orient on Easter Monday – but ITV made a major gaffe after missing the winning goal.

The Terriers, whose boss Liam Manning is until the end of the season, grabbed all three points thanks to Ryan Ledson finding the net in the 16th minute of injury time.

But fans were stunned when ITV’s Highlights show, hosted by Hugh Woozencroft, missed the pivotal moment.

And, in another sensational broadcasting blunder, it appeared on viewers’ screens that the League One showdown ended in a 1-1 stalemate instead of the correct 2-1 scoreline.

Ledson’s late strike came after team-mate Bojan Radulovic cancelled out Radinio Balker’s first half own goal.

And fans tuning into the ITV show rushed onto social media to hit out when they noticed the huge error.

One said: “The EFL need to find better guardians for TV highlights than this awful ITV programme.

“Today, they completely missed Huddersfield’s winner at , announcing that the game had finished 1-1 instead. Absolutely pathetic.”

Another added: “Everything about ITV’s coverage of EFL highlights is absolutely shocking.

“It is such a shame when there was clearly a lot of love and effort put in by BBC with Manish Bhasin hosting and even Quest with Colin Murray and guests.”

A third slammed the coverage, noting: “Genuinely give the BBC the Football League Show back with Manish Bhasin hosting it again.”

And a fourth chimed in: “That is absolutely outrageous from . Give it to someone who cares.

“The BBC did a great job but was on at midnight. Quest had a superb host and actually gave some decent analysis.

“Something needs to change because the ITV coverage is worse than amateur.”

Huddersfield are three points off the League One play-off spots following their late win.

And Orient, who only missed out on promotion to the Championship in , have fallen to within four points of the drop zone.

ITV has been approached for comment.
