The Presidency has responded to the defection of Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Sunday Dare, who welcomed Mbah into the APC, stated that it is the “way forward.”

In a post on X, he wrote: “Welcome to the home of the Progressives. This is the way forward. President Tinubu has remained committed to building the Party, and now it’s time to reap the rewards. Let’s Renew the Hope of Nigerians.”

Mbah, who officially joined the APC, mentioned that he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because the voices of his constituents were not acknowledged within the party.

He revealed this during a broadcast addressed to the people of Enugu.
