TWO Islamic State extremists who plotted a terror attack are being held at a cushy jail where books and DVDs are delivered to inmates’ cells.

While most terrorists are banged up in one of eight high-security prisons, the pair are in cushy medium-security jail, Preston Prison, where they can mix freely and spend taxpayers’ cash on treatsCredit: Supplied
They are on a standard regime and given £20 a week to spend in the canteen, have TVs and DVD players, can mix with other lags, and make phone calls.
They can also sign up for education courses and vocational training.
Saadaoui, 38, and Hussein, 52, can also visit the Category B Victorian jail’s three gyms.
Convicted terrorists are usually held in one of Britain’s eight high-security prisons, which include nearby HMP Manchester, in County and London’s .
A source said: “It’s outrageous they are together in a cushy medium-security prison like Preston rather than a tough, high-security one.
“They are clearly a huge danger but their regime means they can mix freely and do things like make phone calls and order books and DVDs to their cells.
“They are also being given £20 per week of taxpayers’ money which they can spend on canteen treats like chocolate, crisps and fizzy drinks.
“They will also have access to the mosque and to chaplains and psychologists.
“When you look at the contrast between and what comfortable conditions they are being held in, it makes you sick.
” It shows what a state the prison system is in.”
, of Bolton, were convicted on December 23 of preparing terrorist acts.
They carried out surveillance trips to Manchester and ordered weapons including AK47s and handguns — but undercover police thwarted their plans.
The pair told an officer they were targeting Jews but if any Christians got caught up in their attack “that is a bonus”.
They will be sentenced on February 13.
