Masoud Pezeshkian admitted Iran had struck nearby countries and said the attacks would stop – unless they hit first.
In a televised address on Iranian state TV, he said: “I deem it necessary to apologise to neighbouring countries that were attacked.”
The Iranian president added: “We do not intend to invade neighbouring countries,” calling for regional cooperation to “establish peace and calm”.
He also revealed a new order issued to Iran’s armed forces: “From now on, do not attack neighbouring countries unless attacked first.”
But Pezeshkian still lashed out at Washington, blasting Trump’s demand that Iran surrender.
He said the call for capitulation “is a dream that they should to take to their grave.”
