Governors of 19 northern states are to hold a crucial meeting on Saturday, November 29, to discuss the region’s urgent security issues.
Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the Nasarawa State Governor, disclosed this in a phone interview with Daily Trust.
He added that the meeting, set to hold in Kaduna, will be attended by notable traditional rulers.
“The meeting aims to develop a unified approach to tackling security concerns affecting the region and to discuss the way forward on security matters,” Ahemba explained.
He assured that decisive decisions will be taken during the meeting to enhance regional security.
“Given the security challenges in some northern states, the Nasarawa State government has proactively organised this emergency security meeting to make decisive decisions and prevent any breaches of security in the state,” he added.
Ahemba also highlighted the importance of citizens in ensuring security, urging them to support security agencies by reporting individuals suspected of criminal activities.
