Gameweek 33 Injury and Suspension Update: The Latest on Bukayo Saka, Joao Pedro, and More!

Mikel Arteta is hopeful key players Bukayo Saka and Riccardo Calafiori will feature against Newcastle in some capacity, with a midweek trip to Atletico Madrid also in mind.

“Bukayo is probably going to be in the squad… good news,” the Gunners’ head coach announced in his Friday press conference. “Riccardo Calafiori probably in the squad as well. Jurrien [Timber] not in the squad.”

As for the Magpies, Anthony Gordon (hip injury) will not feature at the Emirates but is pushing for a return in Gameweek 34.

Tino Livramento is due for another scan this weekend as it’s still not clear whether the England full-back will play again before the end of the season.

Elsewhere, Freddie Woodman may well start in goal for Liverpool against Crystal Palace as Arne Slot ruled out Giorgi Marmardashvili for several weeks and admitted that this fixture might come too soon for Alisson — though the Brazilian has a chance of pulling through.

Joe Gomez returns to the squad but Wataru Endo is still another couple of weeks away.

Calum McFarlane will take charge of Chelsea for their FA Cup semi-final against Leeds and he provided journalists with an update on Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, saying: “They trained, they’re in a good place. We don’t know yet, we’ll have a look at them and make a call on that. They’re going to train tomorrow so we are hopeful.”

Jayden Bogle is a doubt for Daniel Farke’s side with a minor foot injury while Anton Stach will only be considered if he improves swiftly in the next day or so.

Midfielder Ilia Gruev won’t play again this season.

Rodri is unlikely to feature for Manchester City in their cup semi against Southampton.

Nottingham Forest will be without first-choice centre-back Murillo at the Stadium of Light this evening.

Vitor Pereira told reporters: “A muscular injury… I don’t know, I am not a doctor. I can not predict but he will be out tomorrow.”

In brighter news, winger Dan Ndoye is available.

Everton striker Beto suffered a concussion in last weekend’s Merseyside derby and is therefore ineligible to face West Ham on Saturday.

Jarrad Branthwaite’s luck hasn’t got any better either; he’s out for the remainder of 2025/26.
