The founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc and Anap Foundation, Atedo Peterside, has described the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) under Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu as a national embarrassment.

Peterside made this statement on Monday while answering questions during an interview on Politics Today, a program on Channels Television that was followed by DAILY POST.

When asked about his expectations regarding the new INEC leadership under Prof. Joash Amupitan and the upcoming off-cycle elections in Anambra and Ekiti states,

Peterside responded: “I would never say never. However, the INEC left behind by Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu was indeed a national disgrace.”

“If you have the time, you should visit the IReV. I can take you there personally and show you result sheets that were manipulated.”

“At times, they altered figures and neglected to update the accompanying text. This simply did not add up.”
